Job summary

PE Global is recruiting a Material Controller for a leading Biotech client near Cork, Ringaskiddy. This is an initial 4-month contract, Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:00, responsible for receiving and storing laboratory consumables and ensuring our customer laboratories are well-stocked.

Role focuses on stock preparation, daily cycle counts, accurate records, replenishment orders, deliveries, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Leaving Certificate; curiosity for science.
• Full training provided; pharma/food manufacturing experience desirable but not essential.
• Maths/IT skills; data capture and reporting.
• Full clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stock is prepared and maintained for detailed storing and conduct daily stock cycle counts.
• Keep accurate inventory records and flag discrepancies.
• Order replenishment items online and deliver goods to customer locations; monitor consumption and report weekly.
• Receive inbound deliveries; manage defective/damaged products and take corrective action.
• Move and store stock by hand or with equipment; glass/cabinet washing and waste disposal per policy.
• Support audits relating to inventory programs and seek opportunities to improve services.

Job description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Material Controller for a leading multi-national Biotech client based in Cork.

This is an initial 4-month contract position Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:00, responsible for receiving and storing laboratory consumables and ensuring our customer laboratories are well-stocked.

ROLE:

• Ensure that stock is prepared and maintained for detailed storing, perform daily stock cycle counts, keep accurate records on inventory, and check for any discrepancies.
• Order consumable replenishment items online and deliver goods to customer locations. Continuously monitor inventory consumption levels and flag reports on a weekly basis.
• Receive inbound deliveries and account for all defective or damaged products and follow up with appropriate corrective action; move and store stock by hand or machines.
• Glass & cabinet washing; glass, solvents & samples disposal as per expiry date
• Recycling of all packaging materials as per customer and Avantor policies
• Identifying opportunities for improved services and implementing them
• Act as a point of contact for audits relating to inventory programs

REQUIREMENTS:

• Leaving Certificate and a curiosity for science.
• Full training will be given, previous experience in a pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience with materials handling and/or warehousing would be an advantage
• Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
• Computer Literate
• Proficient in data capture, analysis and reporting
• Process-driven and high levels of attention to detail
• Full clean driving license

Preferred qualifications:

• Materials Handling certificate
• Experience working in a GxP environment
• Inventory management or stock control experience
