Chemco Ireland Limited are seeking an experienced and customer-focused VMI Supply Chain Manager to join our growing Distribution Division.
This is a unique opportunity for a supply chain professional to take ownership of Chemco’s Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) customer portfolio, ensuring excellent service delivery, inventory optimisation, forecast accuracy and supply chain performance.
Working with strategically important customers, the successful candidate will act as the key link between customers, suppliers and internal teams, supporting the continued development and expansion of Chemco’s VMI and integrated supply chain services.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Chemco’s Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programmes, ensuring agreed service levels and operational performance are achieved.
- Oversee demand forecasting, inventory planning, replenishment strategies and stock optimisation across customer and Chemco inventory locations.
- Act as the primary operational contact for VMI customers, building strong customer relationships and ensuring customer requirements are understood and delivered.
- Monitor inventory levels, consumption trends and forecast accuracy to minimise stock shortages, excess inventory and supply chain disruptions.
- Develop and maintain replenishment parameters, inventory policies, safety stock levels and service governance processes.
- Lead customer reviews and performance reporting, providing insights on KPIs, inventory performance, service levels and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Identify, manage and escalation supply chain risks, inventory issues and potential service interruptions, ensuring timely resolution and customer communication.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure seamless execution of customer supply chain requirements.
- Support the implementation and expansion of Chemco’s VMI, 4PL and value-added service offerings across existing and new customers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimisation, forecasting accuracy, process efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with customer agreements, internal procedures and relevant quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Chemco’s integrated supply chain solutions and VMI service offering.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Replenishment Planning, Customer Supply Chain or a related discipline.
- Experience managing customer-facing supply chain programmes and building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, replenishment planning and service level management.
- Experience analysing supply chain data and producing operational and customer-facing performance reports.
- Experience using ERP systems, inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working within manufacturing, distribution, logistics or customer-focused supply chain environments would be advantageous.
