Jobgether in Ireland seeks a Staff Software Engineer to help establish a Field Engineering function for a global travel tech platform. You will lead technically across backend services, APIs, and data flows, collaborating with Account Management and Product to drive measurable business impact.

You will own troubleshooting, performance improvements, and scalable solutions, while shaping engineering practices for future scalability.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Staff Software Engineer or senior software leader.
• Strong backend engineering focus with APIs, data flows and external integrations.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex problems and deliver production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and shape a new Field Engineering function within a global travel tech platform.
• Collaborate with Account Management and Product to identify opportunities and deliver impact.
• Investigate bottlenecks across backend services, APIs, data pipelines and dependencies.
• Optimize pricing, inventory availability, and booking reliability to improve revenue and margins.
• Develop repeatable engineering approaches and transform customer-specific work into scalable platform capabilities.
• Work across multiple services and drive performance, reliability, and customer experience improvements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders; operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Partner with Product, Account Management, and engineering teams to align with business priorities.
