Job summary

Cowper Care Centre in Baldoyle, Dublin 13, is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide person-centred care to residents in the nursing home setting. The role requires registration with the NMBI and a nursing qualification, with a full-time 39-hour week and adherence to HIQA standards and the nursing code.

You will work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, quality care and support activities for residents.

Qualifications

• Nursing qualification is required.
• Registration with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is required.
• Knowledge of Residential Care legislation including HIQA standards and JC standards is required.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of the care needs of older people, including those with dementia.
• This is a full-time position at 39 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement person-centred care plans for residents and report health changes to the CNM/Assistant Care Manager.
• Collaborate with Health Care Assistants in preparing, developing and implementing resident care plans.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Collaborate with residents and multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice, using a person-centred approach to nursing care.
• Contribute to a range of social, recreational and educational activities for residents.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the quality and safety management system.
• Practice nursing according to the NMBI code and Cowper Care policies and procedures.

Cowper Care Centre DAC is seeking applications for the role Staff Nurse for its Nursing Home - St Patrick's Care Centre, Baldoyle, Dublin 13

The purpose of the role is to provide person centred care to our residents that is both efficient and effective.

The Staff Nurse will:

• Ensure development and implementation of person centred and effective care plans for residents and feedback any changes in health of the resident to the CNM/Assistant Care Manager
• Collaborate with the Health Care Assistants in preparing, developing and implementing resident care plans
• Maintain a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
• Collaborate with residents and the multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate appropriate continuity of care
• Adhere to evidence-based practice, using a person centred approach to nursing care
• Contribute to a range of social, recreational and educational activities aimed at providing a stimulating environment for the residents
• Participate in the development and implementation of the quality and safety management system
• Practice nursing according to the professional code of The Nursing and Midwifery Board and the policies and procedures of Cowper Care

Applicant Requirements

• Registration with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Knowledge of Residential Care legislation including HIQA's National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland, JCI Standards and others as applicable
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of the care needs of older people including people with dementia
• This is a Full-time position - 39 hours per week
