Grafana Labs in Ireland seeks a Staff Backend Engineer to join Grafana Backend Services. You will help deliver a unified backend for On-Prem and Cloud, owning API code and orchestration infrastructure. You’ll mentor teammates, influence roadmaps, and participate in on-call rotations.

The role emphasizes solid Go backend work, relational databases, and a strong focus on developer experience, with opportunities to contribute to open-source projects and collaborate across squads.

Qualifications

• Solid backend development experience, ideally with Go.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, SQLite, Postgres).
• Strong focus on developer and user experience and product quality.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements to shipped products.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Work with your team to deliver new functionality and iterate based on results.
• Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features.
