Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for Alerting. This is a remote opportunity with applications from Ireland. Work on distributed alert ingestion, evaluation, and delivery, scaling to thousands of events across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You’ll influence roadmaps, ship features, mentor teammates, and own the reliability of critical services. Expect a strongly collaborative, open‑source culture and deep cloud experience.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience building distributed systems.
• Experience with Go or other modern languages.
• Familiarity with cloud and on‑prem deployments.
• Self-starter with customer‑focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Influence roadmap and set personal career objectives.
• Deliver new features with your team and iterate.
• Drive projects from ideation to production.
• Contribute to open‑source projects.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain reliable systems.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and own services.
• Mentor teammates and participate in design discussions.
• Learn cloud product and codebase of a large distributed system.
