Job summary

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer for the context-layer project in Ireland. You will design and ship core backend services powering ingestion, context storage, and agent-facing retrieval, in a highly autonomous, production-ready SaaS environment.

You will work on multi-tenant architecture, observability, and expanding the AI-native data intelligence system, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production-grade backend services.
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build the core backend services for the context layer and SaaS foundation.
• Define scalable multi-tenant architecture with isolation and observability.
• Develop APIs and service interfaces for agent-facing retrieval workflows.
• Collaborate with product and infra teams to balance experimentation with reliability.
• Instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards.
