Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Limerick (onsite) is hiring a Staff Automation Engineer to own design, development and optimization of industrial automation systems across multiple platforms. Reporting to the Automation Team Lead, you will drive continuous improvement with operations, quality and engineering partners.

You should have a Bachelor degree in Engineering or computing and 9+ years in automated control systems, with strong PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• 9/10 years proven track record with automated control systems in a machine design environment.
• Strong PLC background including Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000, Siemens S7 and Schneider/Safety PLCs.
• Experience with data analytics, MES, RFID systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide automation expertise at design review stage and create URS, FDS, SDS, SAT, FAT and test plans.
• Develop, debug and validate control system software.
• Analyse, fault-find and modify automation software.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement across systems.
