Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech in Ireland is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on supporting, designing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing automation systems in a regulated medical device environment.

The Automation Engineer will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and external partners to deliver compliant automation solutions, drive continuous improvement, and support product introductions and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automation, mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics.
• 3–5 years in medical device or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience delivering automation projects.
• Knowledge of FDA/ISO/GMP quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and optimize automation equipment and control systems.
• Plan, design, execute, document automation projects.
• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement in reliability and efficiency.
