Job summary

Toast is seeking a senior backend/full-stack engineer to lead AI agentic development within Marketing and Demand Gen. You will design, build, and scale AI-powered features, mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design, and ship end-to-end solutions in a hybrid Dublin-based role.

You will work across Java/Kotlin backend and React frontend, leveraging PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, with focus on reliability, security and performance in a fast-moving product space.

• Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable solutions for AI agents across Toast's Marketing and Demand Gen domains.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.
• Maintain a hands-on presence writing code and prototyping patterns.
• Mentor engineers and drive design reviews and best practices.
• Ship features end-to-end from design to rollout and monitor success.
