Job summary

Toast in Dublin is seeking a senior backend/full-stack engineer to design, build, and scale features that deliver a best-in-class guest experience for restaurants. You will ship end-to-end, collaborate across Product, Design and Engineering, and leverage AI tools to boost velocity and innovation.

With 5+ years of experience, you’ll mentor teammates and help grow ownership across the stack, while focusing on code quality, testing, and clear communication in a hybrid Dublin setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend/full-stack experience delivering impactful products.
• Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications.
• Excited about AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents.
• Effectively works with ambiguity, agile delivery, and shipping usable software incrementally.
• Passionate about making users happy and seeing people use your product in the wild.
• Strong fundamentals — code quality, unit tests, clean code — and open to evolving with AI tooling.
• Strong collaboration skills: communicate clearly with engineers, product, and business stakeholders.
• Curiosity and a growth mindset: seek feedback and grow toward broader ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high performing, flexible, and scalable solutions that help restaurants deliver a best-in-class guest experience.
• Ship features end-to-end, from design through rollout, monitoring for success and iterating based on real-world use.
• Be an awesome teammate who's all in on collaboration and collective success.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.
• Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and up-level the team through design reviews and feedback.
