Toast is seeking a software engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable back‑end and frontend‑adjacent services for a restaurant tech platform. You will ship features end-to-end, collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering, and explore AI-assisted development to accelerate velocity.

Based in Dublin, this hybrid role emphasizes in‑office collaboration two days per week while leveraging AI tools to push innovative workflows and product quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Kotlin/Java experience delivering products
• Comfortable reading and integrating with frontend applications and across the stack
• Excited about AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents
• Able to work with ambiguity, agile delivery, and shipping usable software incrementally
• Passionate about making users happy and seeing people use your product
• Strong on software development fundamentals — code quality, unit tests, clean code
• Strong collaboration skills: communicate clearly with engineers, product, and business stakeholders
• Growth mindset: seek feedback, embrace change, and grow toward broader ownership

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high performing, flexible, and scalable solutions for restaurants to deliver a best-in-class guest experience
• Ship features end-to-end from design through rollout, monitoring success and iterating
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders
• Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance development workflow, improve velocity, and pioneer new approaches across the team
