Job summary

Archer Recruitment Pte Ltd in Ireland is seeking a Software Architect - Tech Lead to shape the technology strategy for a major international insurance business operating across Dublin, London and Bermuda.

You will lead engineering teams, define architectural patterns and steer the transition to cloud-native, Azure-first systems, including AI integration into the SDLC and applications. Collaborate with Head of Software and QA to ensure robust delivery.

Software Architect - Tech Lead | International Insurance

We are looking for a Software Architect - Tech Lead to join the technology organisation of a major international insurance business with operations across Dublin, London and Bermuda.

This is a key role within an established architecture function, supporting the continued transformation from a complex legacy technology estate towards modern, cloud-native architecture. You’ll play a leading role in shaping engineering practices, architecture, code patterns and ways of working across the organisation.

The role is focused on development leadership rather than people management. You’ll work closely with the Head of Software, Head of QA and Enterprise Architect, providing technical direction and influencing engineering teams through strong communication and technical expertise.

The organisation operates as a Microsoft Azure-first technology environment, with significant focus on Azure Functions, orchestration, microservices and modern distributed architecture. There is also a major focus on integrating AI into the software development lifecycle and into applications.

What You’ll Do

• Shape software architecture, engineering practices, code patterns and ways of working


• Lead the evolution from legacy platforms towards modern Azure-based architecture


• Design scalable microservice and cloud-native solutions


• Work extensively with Azure Functions, orchestration and distributed systems


• Help integrate AI into the SDLC and enterprise applications


• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams


• Work closely with Software, QA and Enterprise Architecture leadership


• Champion strong engineering standards, communication and technical decision-making

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Software Architect, Technical Lead or senior engineering leader


• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure


• Excellent knowledge of Azure Functions, orchestration and microservice architecture


• Experience modernising legacy technology environments


• Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices

Salary & Benefits

• Up to €110,000 base salary


• Up to 25% performance bonus


• Dublin / London, 5 days per week in-office


• Approximately quarterly travel to London
