MCS Group is partnering with an innovative software company to appoint an experienced Software Architect to shape a cloud-native SaaS platform. The role centers on defining architectural vision, standards and a scalable, secure platform for growth.

You will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers and influence technology choices across frontend, backend, data and cloud domains. This is a hybrid Dublin-based opportunity.

This isn't a traditional architecture role focused on maintaining an existing estate. It's a platform architecture focused opportunity where you'll help shape the next generation of a cloud-native SaaS platform.

The business has built a successful product that supports high-volume, business critical operations, but with continued growth they're making a significant investment in designing and building a brand new platform. Your role will be to define the architectural vision, establish engineering standards and help create a platform that is scalable, resilient and secure for years to come.

The Role...

As Software Architect, you'll work closely with engineering leadership to define the long-term technical direction of the platform.

You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands on technical leadership, guiding engineering teams through key architectural decisions while ensuring the platform remains scalable, maintainable and secure.

This is a role where you'll influence technology choices, mentor engineers, champion best practice and help shape the future of the organisation's engineering capability.

Responsibilities...

• Own the platform architecture for a modern cloud-native SaaS application.
• Define the long-term technical vision and architectural roadmap.
• Design scalable, resilient and secure distributed systems capable of supporting high transaction volumes.
• Lead architecture across application, cloud, integration and data.
• Establish engineering standards, design principles and architectural governance.
• Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to ensure architectural decisions align with business objectives.
• Guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges and architectural trade-offs.
• Champion modern engineering practices including Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices.
• Drive continuous improvement around performance, reliability, observability and operational excellence.
• Contribute to the organisation's AI strategy, helping identify opportunities to responsibly integrate AI into engineering practices and future platform capabilities.
• Mentor and support senior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• Expertise in distributed systems and microservices.
• A deep understanding of software architecture patterns and modern engineering principles.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient and scalable platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence engineering teams without needing direct line management responsibility.
• A passion for technology and continuous improvement.
