Job summary

Job description

Seeking an experienced construction professional for a Site Manager based in Greater Dublin area. Looking for a person to lead high-quality residential and infrastructure developments to oversee day-to-day operations on residential development sites. The role involves managing site personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and client relationships while ensuring full compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and building regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery


  • Manage all site activities from mobilisation through to project completion.

  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project programmes and milestones.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers.

  • Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure materials, plant, and labour are available when required.

  • Attend and lead site progress meetings.

  • Report progress, risks, delays, and issues to senior management.


Health, Safety & Environmental Management


  • Promote a strong safety culture on site.

  • Ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act and all relevant Irish construction regulations.

  • Implement and monitor the Construction Stage Safety and Health Plan.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.

  • Ensure all personnel comply with company health and safety procedures.

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions where necessary.


Quality Management


  • Ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings, Irish Building Regulations, and relevant standards.

  • Carry out quality inspections throughout the construction process.

  • Manage snagging and ensure timely close-out of defects.

  • Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.

  • Monitor project progress against programme.

  • Assist with short-term planning and sequencing of works.

  • Identify programme risks and propose mitigation measures.

  • Monitor site costs and minimise waste.

  • Support commercial teams regarding variations and additional works.

  • Lead and motivate site teams.

  • Supervise foremen, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct toolbox talks and daily briefings.

  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and professionalism.

  • Mentor junior staff and support their development.


Stakeholder Management


  • Maintain effective communication with clients, design teams, local authorities, and utility providers.

  • Build positive working relationships with neighbouring stakeholders where required.

  • Resolve day-to-day site issues promptly and professionally.


Documentation & Compliance


  • Complete daily site diaries and weekly progress reports.

  • Review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).

  • Ensure permits and inspections are completed.

  • Support handover documentation and project close-out.
