Job summary

Fortis Recruitment is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager for sites in the Dublin area. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, coordinate subcontractors and site teams, and ensure delivery on time, to quality standards and within safety requirements.

The role requires a degree in construction management or related field, 5+ years’ main contractor experience (2 Ireland projects), and proficiency with Procore and BIM. Live/occupied site experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Site Manager role with a main contractor, including at least 2 projects completed in Ireland.
  • Proven ability to manage high‑quality, complex projects safely and on time.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and H&S standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the company professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with BCAR and contract administration (Public Works/RIAI) is advantageous.
  • Experience working in live/occupied environments is a plus.
  • Valid Safe Pass, manual handling, and other site certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day site operations from commencement to completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, site teams, and logistics.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and is delivered on programme.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and H&S activities.
  • Maintain daily records, site diaries and Procore reports.
  • Attend coordination meetings with design teams, clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee snagging, commissioning and handover processes.
  • Support BCAR documentation and Safety File preparation.

Our client specialises in the planning, management and delivery of high-quality construction projects across a range of sectors including commercial, educational, hospitality, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial and retail. Working closely with clients, design teams and project stakeholders, the company delivers projects with a strong focus on quality, safety and programme.

What’s the opportunity? (Role)

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of medium to large-scale projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and programme standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong site management experience, with the ability to effectively coordinate subcontractors and site teams, manage day-to-day site activities, and work closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Manage all day-to-day site operations from commencement to completion of a project.
  • Ensure all work on site is completed to the required quality standards.
  • Ensure all check sheets and observations are completed and closed out on Procore.
  • Implement and monitor construction programme milestones and communicate with the Project / Contracts Manager to manage sequencing and productivity.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics on site.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and H&S activities in consultation with the Health & Safety Team.
  • Lead site and whiteboard meetings with subcontractors.
  • Implement and manage digital construction tools and workflows.
  • Maintain and update daily records, reports, site diaries, and site communication via Procore.
  • Attend site and coordination meetings with design teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Manage snagging, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Play a key role in the preparation and management of the Safety File, ensuring all documentation is collected and maintained digitally.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving on-site.
  • Support and mentor junior site personnel, apprentices, and subcontractor teams.
  • Promote collaboration and ensure project delivery aligns with company values and client expectations.
Play a key role in BCAR management by
  • Support the Quality Manager in ensuring all documentation, inspections and certifications related to BCAR are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Support the coordination of BCAR inspections and audits, including liaising with assigned certifiers and local authorities.
  • Track and monitor compliance milestones, ensuring the timely submission of required documentation.

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Site Manager role with a main contractor. (A minimum of 2 projects completed in Ireland)
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver high-quality, complex projects safely and on time across a range of sectors.
  • Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, building regulations, and H&S standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance processes and BCAR.
  • Demonstrated experience managing various forms of contracts (e.g. Public Works and RIAI contracts), including familiarity with contractual obligations, compliance, and documentation requirements.
  • A strong understanding of M&E systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience working in live/occupied environments will be a distinct advantage.
  • Valid Safe Pass, manual handling, and other relevant site certifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of managing multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Proficient in digital construction platforms, particularly Procore or similar systems, for site management, inspections, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination, interpreting digital models, and supporting digital construction workflows.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
