Site Financial Controller – Manufacturing

Job summary

Gi Group client in Ireland seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead the site finance function. This leadership role covers financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls, reporting to the financial director.

The successful candidate will partner with operations, drive performance improvements and manage a finance team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and group policies. Experience in manufacturing and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• At least five years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• Demonstrable financial leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost accounting.
• Experience with US GAAP and financial reporting in a multinational or listed group.
• Familiarity with statutory reporting and local regulatory obligations.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports within a finance team.
• Knowledge of SOX requirements is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, promoting high performance.
• Partner with leaders to support decisions through financial analysis.
• Set departmental objectives, metrics and development plans.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen finance effectiveness.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, assets and cost accounting.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reports through corporate systems.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory reporting.
• Coordinate government/statutory submissions and annual filings.
• Lead monthly forecasting for orders, sales, P&L and balance sheet.
• Analyse performance, identify trends and recommend profitability actions.
• Oversee annual labour and overhead cost studies and cost rolls.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and statutory filings.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and cross-functional support.
