Job summary

McCallion Group is seeking a Site Engineer with strong surveying and site coordination skills to ensure accurate setting-out across projects in Ireland. You will work with Site Managers, Project Managers and design teams to ensure alignment and quality on every phase.

You will use total stations and GPS, supervise on-site works, maintain QA records, and travel to sites across Ireland as required. Competitive salary and pension contributions offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in setting-out/site engineering.
• Proficient with total stations, GPS and surveying instruments.
• Strong understanding of civil works, concrete and steel structures.
• Engineering degree or construction-related discipline.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel across Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Carry out precise setting-out and surveying on site.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Site Engineer with strong technical skills in surveying and site co-ordination. This role will focus on ensuring accuracy and quality across all setting-out activities on site, supporting the successful delivery of projects.

What You Will Deliver

• Carry out precise setting-out and surveying using modern equipment.
• Check and interpret drawings, specifications, and levels.
• Co-ordinate with Site Managers, Project Managers, and the design team to ensure alignment of on-site works.
• Supervise site activities, subcontractors, and trades to meet programme, quality, and H&S requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, QA documentation, and as-built information.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Completing 3D models for uploading onto GPS equipment, on earth-moving equipment.

What You Will Bring

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a setting-out/site engineering role.
• Proficiency with total stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments.
• Strong understanding of civil works, concrete, and steel structures.
• Degree or diploma in Engineering or a construction-related discipline.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety, and quality
• Willingness to travel to sites across Ireland as required.
