Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Site Engineer for a major civil infrastructure project in Co. Meath. The role reports to the Project Manager and requires strong site-based experience in civil engineering and construction.

You will manage daily site operations, perform setting out with GPS/levelling tools, produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers while ensuring H&S compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 QQI) or internationally recognised equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering or construction.
• Proven experience with GPS, levelling instruments and AutoCAD.
• Full clean driving licence and legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland.

Responsibilities

Job description

A Site Engineer is required for a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major public realm and civil infrastructure project in Stramullen, Co.Meath. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing organisation and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering works across a busy project environment.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will have solid site-based experience within civil engineering or construction and will be confident handling day-to-day engineering duties, including setting out, surveying, site coordination, and supporting project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support daily site operations across civil engineering works
• Carry out setting out duties using GPS and levelling equipment
• Verify all site measurements, lines, and levels to ensure accuracy
• Undertake site surveys and produce as-built drawings using AutoCAD
• Liaise with the Project Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
• Monitor progress on site and maintain accurate site diaries and records
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with H&S requirements
• Support the resolution of technical and construction-related issues on site
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and quality standards
• Assist with the coordination of drainage, earthworks, concrete, roads, footpaths, and external works

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline at Level 8 (QQI) or internationally recognised equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role within civil engineering or construction
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site procedures, and health & safety regulations
• Proven experience with GPS equipment, levelling instruments, and AutoCAD
• Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
• Full clean driving licence
• Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary €60,000 – €70,000, depending on experience
