Job summary

STRIVE Search is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer to join an established Irish main contractor on a healthcare project in Longford. You will work with the Senior Engineer and site management to manage day-to-day setting out, surveying, QA/QC, and on-site engineering duties.

Responsibilities include establishing site control, reading drawings, and coordinating with subcontractors. A civil engineering degree and solid Total Station experience are required, with a focus

Qualifications

• Ideally 3–5 years' experience as Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer.
• Experience on building projects with an Irish main contractor.
• Strong practical experience using Total Station and surveying equipment.
• Experience establishing site control and setting out accurately from drawings.
• Good understanding of architectural, structural and civil drawings.
• Experience with QA/QC inspections and as-built surveys.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• BIM or digital model experience would be beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on site.
• Good awareness of construction health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Check dimensions, levels and completed works to ensure accuracy.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural and civil drawings.

• Complete as-built surveys and maintain accurate engineering records.
• Carry out QA/QC inspections in line with project quality requirements.
• Work closely with subcontractors, Site Managers and the wider construction team. Support the Senior Engineer with the successful delivery of the project.

• I'm currently working with an established Irish main contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer to join their team on a healthcare project in Longford. The project involves the construction of a new 43-bed residential care facility within an active hospital campus. The successful candidate will work alongside the Senior Engineer and wider site management team, taking responsibility for day-to-day setting out, surveying, quality checks and engineering duties across the project.

The Role

• Carry out day-to-day setting out and surveying across the project.
