Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with on-site experience.
• Proven setting-out and surveying experience on construction projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical information accurately.
• Experience across commercial, residential or mixed-use schemes is desirable.
• Strong quality control understanding and robust on-site processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage setting out activities and maintain dimensional control on site.
• Establish site control networks, benchmarks and survey records.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information for fidelity.
• Coordinate with design teams and RFIs when required.
• Support planning and ensure technical information is accessible to the site team.
• Assist with method statements, project documentation and records.
• Monitor quality and ensure works meet project requirements.
• Carry out inspections, maintain quality records and manage snagging.
• Coordinate material testing and certification records.
• Maintain as-built information and support BIM/digital processes (Procore/BIM360).

NexVentur are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a leading Irish main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a highly regarded contractor and become part of a professional project team delivering large-scale, multi-million-euro developments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects on site, providing technical guidance, ensuring quality standards are maintained, and working closely with the wider construction team to achieve programme and project objectives.

The Role

As Site Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support throughout the construction process, ensuring works are completed in line with design requirements, specifications, quality standards and programme deadlines.

You will work closely with the Senior Engineer, Project Manager, subcontractors and design teams to coordinate construction activities and maintain high standards across all stages of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage setting out activities and maintain dimensional control throughout the project
• Establish and maintain site control networks, benchmarks and accurate survey records
• Review construction drawings, specifications and technical information
• Liaise with design teams and raise RFIs where required
• Support construction planning and ensure technical information is available to the site team
• Assist with technical submissions, method statements and project documentation
• Monitor quality standards and ensure works comply with project requirements
• Carry out inspections and maintain quality records
• Manage snagging, inspections and non-conformance reports
• Coordinate material testing, sampling and certification records
• Maintain accurate as-built information and project documentation
• Support BIM and digital construction processes including platforms such as Procore/BIM360

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related discipline
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within construction
• Strong setting out and surveying experience
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical information
• Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, education or mixed-use projects desirable
• Strong understanding of quality control and construction processes
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a project team
• Proficient with construction technology and digital project platforms
