Job summary

ICDS (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the site team on a major construction project in Galway City. The successful candidate will ensure all setting out, engineering, and quality control duties are completed accurately and safely. This role offers a competitive salary of €65,000 – €75,000, company vehicle, and excellent career progression opportunities.

You will report to Senior Management, liaise with various teams, and conduct quality control inspections, all while adhering to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer with a main contractor.
• Experience on large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
• Safe Pass and relevant site certifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying duties across the project.

Site Engineer – Galway

A leading Irish main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the site team on a major construction project in Galway City. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile development with a well-established contractor delivering large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the project, ensuring all setting out, engineering, and quality control duties are completed accurately, safely, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying duties across the project.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical information.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with design requirements and project specifications.
• Liaise with subcontractors, site management, and design teams to coordinate works.
• Monitor construction progress and maintain accurate site records.
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Assist with preparation of as-built drawings and project documentation.
• Support the management team in resolving technical and engineering issues on site.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Report progress and engineering issues to Senior Site Management.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer with a main contractor.
• Experience on large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong setting out and surveying skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and surveying equipment.
