Job summary

Clancy in Cork is seeking a Site Engineer to join our on-site team across residential and commercial projects. You will lead setting out, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure drawings are translated into accurate on-site work.

You’ll review design details, coordinate from designer to workshop drawings, monitor safety and quality, and maintain site records. Fluency in English and strong teamwork are essential for success at Clancy.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or equivalent) with at least 3 years' site experience.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and plans.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork across stakeholders.

We are hiring for a Site Engineer to work with us in the Cork area.

Key Responsibilities include :

• Responsible for the overall engineering function on site with particular emphasis on setting out and implementation of correct levels across the site.
• Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and the general workforce involved in the project to promote the accuracy of the information.
• Reviewing detailed design and where necessary to critique and communicate with designers to ensure adequate information is available for construction.
• Coordinating the development of design from designer's details to approved workshop drawings and technical information from subcontractors.
• Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
• Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved without compromising on safety, quality or integrity.
• Ordering and control of materials on site.
• Maintaining site records pertaining to the engineering function.
• Checking plans, drawings and implementation of setting out coordination.
• Attending regular meetings with the team and interacting continuously.
• Safety, Sustainability and Quality management coupled with BCAR co-ordination.
• Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site and ensuring that regulations, best practice and internal standards are adhered to and achieved.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
• Methodical practitioner with exceptional and demonstrated technical and problem-solving skills.
• Client/Consultant interface with regards to the engineering function.
• Confident in supervising site works and engaging with the team.
• Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Strong communication skills – oral and written. Fluency in English is required.
