Job summary

Clancy, a leading Irish construction company, is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join our Dublin team. You will oversee setting out, level control, and on-site engineering activities, ensuring safety, quality and programme targets are met across complex residential and commercial projects.

Working with consultants, subcontractors and the on-site workforce, you will review designs, coordinate information, and maintain site records.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Strong communication skills – oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Set out and implement correct levels across the site.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and the workforce to promote information accuracy.
• Review detailed design and communicate with designers to ensure adequate information for construction.
• Coordinate development of design from designer's details to approved workshop drawings and technical information from subcontractors.
• Read and interpret drawings for layouts and materials measures.
• Plan works to meet programme targets while maintaining safety and quality.

About the Role

We are hiring for a Senior Site Engineer to join our team in Dublin.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall engineering function on site with particular emphasis on setting out and implementation of correct levels across the site.
• Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors and the general workforce involved in the project to promote the accuracy of the information.
• Reviewing detailed design and where necessary to critique and communicate with designers to ensure adequate information is available for construction.
• Coordinating the development of design from designer's details to approved workshop drawings and technical information from subcontractors.
• Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
• Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved without compromising on safety, quality or integrity.
• Ordering and control of materials on site.
• Maintaining site records pertaining to the engineering function.
• Checking plans, drawings and implementation of setting out coordination.
• Attending regular meetings with the team and interacting continuously.
• Safety, Sustainability and Quality management coupled with BCAR co-ordination.
• Overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site and ensuring that regulations, best practice and internal standards are adhered to and achieved.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.

Required Skills

• Methodical practitioner with exceptional and demonstrated technical and problem-solving skills.
• Client/Consultant interface with regards to the engineering function.
• Confident in supervising site works and engaging with the team.
• Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Strong communication skills – oral and written.
• Fluency in English is required.
