Job Purpose
To provide technical and commercial support throughout the later stages of the project lifecycle to secure, protect, and grow Saint‑Gobain system specifications across key brands including Gyproc, Isover, Vetrotech, and Ecophon. The role focuses on supporting Design & Build projects through technical guidance, on‑site engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and proactive management of specification risks to ensure successful project delivery and commercial outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Providing technical support and system recommendations during the detailed design phase, supporting contractors and installers throughout construction, and ensuring compliance with specified systems on‑site.
- Identifying and mitigating risks of specification loss, supporting commercial negotiations, and developing opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling during project execution.
- Maintaining accurate CRM and project records, coordinating with internal technical and logistics teams, resolving on‑site technical issues, issuing warranties where required, and strengthening stakeholder relationships to support future pipeline growth and repeat business opportunities.

Specific Focus will be on (but not exclusively):
Detailed Design Stage
- Provide technical guidance, system recommendations, and compliance‑driven solutions.
- Focus on Design & Build projects.
- Deliver CPDs, design support, and digital technical resources where required.
- Work collaboratively with internal technical teams to prepare proposals, system build‑ups, and performance data.
- Track upcoming tenders, ensure inclusion of company systems, and maintain visibility.
- Build long‑term relationships with design‑stage decision makers to secure specifications.
Construction Stage
- Provide on‑site support to contractors, site managers, installers, and procurement teams.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and installation of specified systems through technical assistance and product demonstrations. Identify and mitigate risks of specification loss by monitoring alternative proposals and value‑engineering discussions.
- Respond quickly to site issues, coordinating with technical and logistics teams as needed.
- Develop opportunities for upselling or cross‑selling related systems during construction execution.
- Support commercial negotiation with contractors to secure orders and maintain margins.
Handover & Close‑Out Stage
- Maintain engagement through commissioning and project completion to ensure full compliance and performance.
- Address outstanding technical issues.
- Capture lessons learned and feedback from site teams for continuous improvement.
- Strengthen relationships with key project stakeholders to secure repeat business and future pipeline visibility.
- Document project outcomes for case studies, testimonials, and internal reporting.
- Ensure all project data and CRM entries are fully updated.
- Issue any relevant warranties.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline preferred
- Strong ICT skills (particularly Microsoft Office)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Engineers Ireland, RIAI) desirable.
Experience & Skills
- Ability to capture and document project feedback, case studies, and CRM data accurately to support business development.
- Experience maintaining engagement through project completion, including commissioning, close‑out, and issue resolution.
- On‑site experience supporting contractors and installation teams, including resolving technical queries and ensuring correct system installation.
- Previous involvement in delivering CPDs, technical presentations, or design‑stage training to external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence architects, engineers, contractors, and other key decision‑makers across multiple stages of a project lifecycle.
