Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the planning and design of transport projects across Ireland. Based in Dublin or Dundalk, you will manage road, rail and active travel schemes, contribute to EIAR/CPO processes and oversee contracts and construction supervision.

A strong consultancy background is essential. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, develop client relationships and drive bids to win new commissions, ensuring value-for-money designs and successful project

Qualifications

• Experience in a consultancy environment.
• Degree in engineering (Level 8/9).
• Chartered Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of design standards and ability to translate into buildable and value-for-money designs.
• Experience in the management, planning and design of transportation schemes (preferably in Ireland) including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration, construction supervision and commercial management.
• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.
• Willingness to develop and build client relationships.
• Experience in the development of tender proposals, leading bids and winning new commissions.

Responsibilities

• The role will involve the management, planning and design of road, rail, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland.
• Input to statutory processes (EIAR, CPO etc), procurement processes, preparation of contract documents, contract administration, construction supervision and commercial management.
