Job summary

AECOM Dublin is seeking a Principal Engineer in the Streets Team to lead major road, greenway and urban transport packages from concept to construction. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and work with clients and authorities across Ireland.

You will apply DMURS, Cycle Design Manual and other standards, mentor junior colleagues, and help deliver projects that reshape mobility. This hybrid role offers flexible working and opportunities to develop toward chartership within a

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in road, urban, or Active Travel infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage project delivery.
• Working knowledge of Irish transport standards: TII Publications, DMURS, DMRB, and Cycle Design Manual.
• Experience with statutory planning and design approvals in Ireland.
• Experience with construction stage such as Site Supervision is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead & deliver design packages for major road, greenway, and urban transport schemes from concept to construction.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across drainage, structures, and environmental disciplines.
• Apply latest standards including DMURS and Cycle Design Manual to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
• Engage with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders through approvals processes (Part 8 / ABP / SID / EIA).
• Mentor junior engineers and support learning culture.
