AECOM’s Ireland Surface Transportation Team seeks a driven Principal Engineer to lead roads, public transport and greenways projects. You will guide design packages from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and authorities to secure approvals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering required.
Chartered Engineer status or progress toward Chartership welcomed.
Significant post-graduate experience in highways, rail, or public transport.
Solid understanding of UK/Ireland design standards (DMRB/PMG).
Experience with contract documentation and commercial management.

Responsibilities

Deliver and coordinate design packages on complex infrastructure programmes.
Lead technical design teams from concept to construction across roads, public transit and greenways.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage inputs from drainage, structures, environment.
Engage clients and authorities through approvals and design reviews.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development within the team.
