PE Global Healthcare is currently recruiting a Senior Speech & Language Therapist on behalf of a leading acute hospital in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive multidisciplinary team, providing specialist Speech & Language Therapy services to adults within the Neurology service.
This role is ideal for an experienced clinician looking to further develop their expertise in a dynamic acute hospital environment while contributing to service innovation, quality improvement, and the delivery of evidence‑based patient care.
The Role
As Senior Speech & Language Therapist, you will provide a specialist clinical service to patients under the care of the Neurology team, delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management for adults presenting with a range of neurological conditions.
Working as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in leading service development, supporting best practice initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a specialist Speech & Language Therapy service to adult patients within the Neurology service.
- Complete comprehensive assessments and develop highly specialised treatment and management programmes tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide clinical leadership to support the effective delivery and ongoing development of the Speech & Language Therapy service.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, psychologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in service planning, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of Speech & Language Therapy services.
- Evaluate clinical outcomes and contribute to service audits, reporting and performance monitoring.
- Lead on innovation and ensure services are delivered in line with current evidence, national standards and best practice guidelines.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and students as appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
- A minimum of three years’ post‑qualification clinical experience, with relevant experience at Senior level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working with adult neurological patients within an acute or rehabilitation setting.
- Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and decision‑making skills.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Candidates requiring an Irish employment permit are encouraged to apply. Work permit sponsorship will be considered for suitably qualified candidates who meet the eligibility requirements.
Desirable
- Experience in instrumental swallowing assessment (FEES/VFSS) is advantageous.
- Experience in quality improvement, clinical audit or service development.
- Previous supervision or mentoring experience.
