Job summary

Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based at Primary Care Centre, Co. Kildare.

This role involves assessment, intervention and family-centred support for children and young people with complex development needs, within the HSE’s PDS model. You will lead clinical practice, supervise junior staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services and drive service

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
• CORU registration is required.
• Minimum of three years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
• Experience in paediatric disability services is desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive assessments of paediatric clients with speech, language, and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based, individualised intervention programmes.
• Manage a varied paediatric caseload prioritising clinical needs.
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff and students.
• Deliver parent coaching and family-centred interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.

Job description

Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is currently recruiting a Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join a Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Primary Care Centre, Co. Kildare.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering family-centred services to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex developmental needs. Working within the HSE’s Progressing Disability Services (PDS) model, you will play a key role in assessment, intervention, and supporting children and their families to achieve meaningful outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Speech & Language Therapist, you will:

• Complete comprehensive assessments of children with speech, language, communication, and feeding/swallowing difficulties.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based, individualised intervention programmes.
• Manage a varied paediatric caseload while prioritising clinical needs.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Behaviour Specialists, and Therapy Assistants.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff and students.
• Deliver parent coaching, education, and family-centred interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
• CORU registration.
• A minimum of three years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
• Previous experience working in paediatric disability services is desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
• Full driver’s licence and access to a car is desirable.
