Job summary

Allied Health/Nursing is recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Speech & Language Therapists to support Adult Acute Services across Kildare and Wicklow. You will assess, diagnose, and treat adults with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders in community and residential settings.

The role offers collaboration with a wide MDT, opportunities for professional development, supervision for seniors, and a chance to specialise in adult SLT within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • CORU registration is required.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.
  • Adult clinical placement or experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and dysphagia disorders.
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based, person-centred intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Nursing staff, Medical teams and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support adults with neurological, age-related and complex medical conditions.
  • Provide education and advice to families, carers, and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives.
  • Senior applicants will provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to junior colleagues and students.

We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Speech & Language Therapists to join a supportive Adult Acute Services covering Kildare and Wicklow.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with adults across community and residential settings, providing high-quality assessment and intervention for individuals with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering person-centred care and achieving the best possible outcomes for service users.

Role

As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will:

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults presenting with communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and dysphagia disorders.
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based, person-centred intervention plans.
  • Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Nursing staff, Medical teams, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support adults with a range of neurological, age-related, and complex medical conditions.
  • Provide education and advice to families, carers, and healthcare staff.

Requirements
Staff Grade
  • Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • CORU registration.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Adult clinical placement or experience is desirable.
  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car is desirable.
Senior Grade
  • Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • CORU registration.
  • A minimum of three years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Experience managing adult communication and dysphagia caseloads.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff is desirable.
  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car is desirable.
