Job summary

Dell Technologies in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Software Senior Engineer to join the Unstructured Data Storage team within ISG. You will contribute to building scalable storage solutions, including a multi-petabyte S3 object store and scale-out NAS, collaborating with product owners and AI agents to deliver high-quality software.

The role emphasizes end-to-end software development, architecture, and mentoring, with a focus on performance and reliable systems in an enterprise context.

Qualifications

• Solid programming skills with 3-5 years of related experience in languages such as C, C++, Java or Python.
• Experience in filesystem and distributed systems.
• Ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specs.
• Excellent analytical, debugging and problem solving skills.
• Advanced prompting and context engineering to guide AI tools.
• Experience in software architecture: system design, APIs, microservices, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Work on all aspects of the software development life cycle: planning, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Author and manage detailed technical specifications.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, AI agents and other engineers to define and implement technical solutions.
• Coach and mentor more junior team members.
