Job summary

highr in Dublin is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our growing on-site team on a major project. This role requires taking responsibility for the engineering function, ensuring quality, safety and programme performance from setup to handover.

You will work with Site and Project Management to manage technical aspects of the lifecycle, supervise junior staff, liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with building regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6-8 years' experience in a Senior or Site Engineer role on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all engineering activities on-site.
• Interpret and implement technical drawings and specifications.
• Oversee setting out, surveying, quality control, and compliance inspections.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project programme, health & safety, and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain site documentation, including RFI logs, method statements, and progress reports.
• Support the Project Manager with planning and delivery of works.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and site staff where required.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our growing team on a major project based in Dublin. This is a critical role for an ambitious professional who can take responsibility for the engineering function on-site, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and programme performance.

As a Senior Engineer, you will work closely with the Site and Project Management teams to manage technical aspects of the project lifecycle, from initial setup to handover.

• Proficient in using AutoCAD, Total Station, GPS, and other relevant tools.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Full, clean driver's license (required for company vehicle).
