Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Cruiserath, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Scientist, Manufacturing - Process Development, to lead downstream unit operations and support tech transfer for commercial biologics. You will collaborate across MS&T, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure robust, compliant processes.

The role emphasizes project leadership, complex data analysis, and effective scientific communication in a regulated environment. Strong emphasis on GMP and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical or biochemical engineering, biochemistry, biotechnology or related.
• Bachelor’s 7+ years, Master’s 5+ years, or PhD 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of protein purification, protein stability and downstream performance.
• Experience with downstream processing equipment incl chromatography and ultrafiltration/diafiltration.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing, tech transfer, validation or investigations.
• Ability to analyze complex technical issues and write clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• GMP knowledge and data integrity are important.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for downstream unit operations supporting commercial biologics manufacturing.
• Lead tech transfer of assets to Cruiserath and broader network with oversight.
• Lead or support troubleshooting, investigations, and CAPA development.
• Design, execute, and interpret lab or scale-down studies for investigations and tech transfer.
• Author and review study protocols, technical reports, and regulatory content.
• Drive continuous improvement for robustness, efficiency, and knowledge management.
• Collaborate across MS&T, Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development and Regulatory teams.
