Job summary

IQVIA seeks a Senior Medical Director to provide strategic medical and scientific leadership across therapeutic areas, leveraging Rheumatology expertise to shape proposals, early customer engagement, and lifecycle management using IQVIA resources.

You will lead independent strategic work, drive clinical development plans, and participate in client bid defenses as a medical director and subject matter expert, with travel up to 20% internationally.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a CRO setting, with a senior strategic role and leadership in Rheumatology.
• Terminal degree (MD) and training in Rheumatology.
• Board Certified – Rheumatology

Responsibilities

• Work independently of the therapeutic area head.
• Demonstrate independence in strategic proposal development with the team.
• Participate in client proposal bid defense meetings as a leader, medical director and subject matter expert.
• Act as consultant throughout the R&D life cycle and the duration of clinical trials; and/or as a standalone independent customer solution.
• Formulate clinical development plans and drive the group strategy and Center of Excellence direction.
