Job summary

ESB is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management of Solar Farm projects and the demolition of existing generation assets across Ireland. The role covers cost control, tender documentation, post‑ contract commercial management and liaison with ESB teams, partners and contractors.

Based in Dublin 2 or Cork, the post supports flexible hybrid working with in‑person collaboration at least two days weekly.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 5 years (Post Qualification).
• Knowledge of contract administration including FIDIC.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• MRICS/MSCSI qualification desirable; Buildsoft/Cubit experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Cost management across all phases of a project.
• Preparation of Order of Magnitude Costs.
• Preparation of tender documentation including BOQ and pricing schedules.
• Liaison with procurement function.
• Tender assessment, evaluation and negotiation.
• Post Contract commercial management and progress tracking.
• Measurement and valuation of variations in the work.
• Report writing and interpretation.
• Promote safety culture on all activities.
• Ensure Quality Procedures on all projects.
• Mentor junior staff.
