Job summary

Suir Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and contractual management on large-scale projects from inception to handover.

The role requires 5+ years' QS experience in mechanical/electrical contexts, excellent communication, and the ability to drive margins, cost control and change management within a dynamic, multinational project portfolio.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Project QS.
• Experience in electrical/mechanical projects is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to prioritise deadlines and work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial and contractual requirements across the project lifecycle.
• Interface with Client Commercial and Contract Teams.
• Procurement of Sub-contractors and cost control.
• Conduct cost and risk analysis for projects.
• Review incoming correspondence to identify contract items and reply.
• Manage subcontractor commercial aspects and change control.
• Provide project costing, margins and cashflow reporting.
• Oversee change orders and cost agreement with client.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be supporting our EP&R projects.

What you will be doing?

• Management and ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements through the life cycle of the project.
• Responsibility for interface Client Commercial/Contract Team.
• Project Procurement including Sub‑contractors.
• Conduct cost and risk analysis.
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies.
• Manage commercial aspects of subcontractors.
• Provide project costing, margin & cashflow reports.
• Manage project change order procedures and agree costs with client.

Is this the job for me?

• Suitable Candidates must have a 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying and 5+ years’ experience working as a Project QS.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous experience working in the electrical/mechanical field.
• Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
