Job summary

Suir Engineering Ltd in Ireland is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an EP&R project in Leinster. The role focuses on HV/LV design, protection coordination, arc flash analysis, and commissioning of GIS/AIS substations on-site with clients and the design team.

You will prepare technical specifications, manage procurement, supervise technicians, and contribute to safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Third level degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in HV Energy and Renewables.

Responsibilities

• Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams.
• Develop HV system studies including protection coordination, arc flash, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports.
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of GIS and AIS Substations.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate engineering work and projects.
• Liaise with clients and the design team on technical issues.
• Manage technical queries on site and support handover of systems.

We have exciting opportunity for a Senior ElectricalEngineer to join Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be based on a EP&R project in Leinster region

What you will be doing

• Development and review of schematic drawings and single line diagrams
• Developing HV system studies including protection coordination, arc flash, voltage regulation, load flow and fault level reports
• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of GIS and AIS Substations
• Complying with specific project safety requirements
• Detailed design covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems
• Specification, selection and procurement of the range of equipment
• Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation
• Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
• Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Carry out document control, recording and transmitting information.
• Liaising and co-ordinating with clients, other members of the design team and contractors on technical issues.
• Managing all technical queries on site and assist project team in all site electrical engineering issues to include: the management, the planning, the testing and commissioning and the handover of all project systems.
• Prepare programs using MS project.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.
• Assemble bid, approval, and construction issue drawing packages.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessary.
• Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
• Use computers extensively to produce and analyse designs.
• Supervise technicians and other engineers during development phase.
• Build, test and modify product prototypes.
• Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by your manager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company

Is this job for me?

Suitable Candidates must have a third level degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer in the HV Energy and Renewable Sector.
