Job summary

BSS Contract Solutions Ltd in Cork seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a public-sector school project. The role is based in Cork City with a salary around €90,000, negotiable based on experience.

You will manage subcontract procurement, cost reporting, and final accounts, liaising with project teams and clients to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is required.
• Strong experience as a QS on main contractor projects.
• Public-sector project experience is preferable.

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: North Monastery, Cork City Salary: €90,000 + (negotiable) Project: Public-sector school project in Cork City.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual requirements of the project.
• Prepare and manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and appointments.
• Manage valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs against budget and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, site team, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Ensure accurate records and timely commercial reporting throughout the project.
• Support contractual correspondence and claims where required.

Requirements

• Strong Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Senior-level capability managing the commercial aspects of projects with limited supervision.
• Public-sector project experience is preferable, although strong candidates from other sectors will be considered.
• Good knowledge of Irish construction contracts, procurement and cost control.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
