Job summary

Building Staff Solutions Ltd. in Cork seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a public-sector school project. Based on North Monastery, Cork City, you will lead commercial and contractual elements on a high-profile site.

You will manage procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts while liaising with project teams and client representatives. A degree in Quantity Surveying and strong experience with main contractors are essential; Irish contracts knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Senior-level capability managing the commercial aspects of projects with limited supervision.
• Public-sector project experience is preferable, although strong candidates from other sectors will be considered.
• Good knowledge of Irish construction contracts, procurement and cost control.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual requirements of the project.
• Prepare and manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and appointments.
• Manage valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs against budget and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, site team, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Ensure accurate records and timely commercial reporting throughout the project.
• Support contractual correspondence and claims where required.
