Job summary

Irish Engineering Consultancy in Dublin is seeking a Senior Project Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for major data centre projects on a hybrid basis.

You will work with clients, architects and the design team, delivering concept through to construction, with a focus on delivering ahead of schedule and upholding standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer in building services.
• Experience leading electrical design for data centre projects.
• Honours degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across large data centre projects.
• Manage electrical design from concept through to completion.
• Produce detailed electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Prepare tender packages, reports, analysis and recommendations.

The Company

This Irish engineering consultancy delivers major data centre, energy and mission critical projects across Ireland and EMEA.
With a growing portfolio of data centre work, they are looking for an experienced Senior Project Electrical Engineer to join their Dublin team on a hybrid basis, taking responsibility for electrical design and project delivery from concept through to completion.

The Role: Senior Project Electrical Engineer

As Senior Project Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical design and engineering delivery of large scale data centre projects.
You will work independently while coordinating with clients, architects, Project Managers and the wider design team, ensuring electrical designs are completed to programme and meet construction requirements.
This is a senior technical position requiring strong data centre electrical design experience and the ability to take ownership of projects with minimal management input.

Must Have Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer
• Must have electrical building services design experience on data centre projects
• Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN standards

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical services design across data centre projects
• Manage electrical design from concept through to completion
• Design and specify electrical building services systems
• Produce detailed electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Prepare tender packages, reports, analysis and recommendations
• Develop project scope with clients and the wider design team
• Monitor electrical installation and quality on site
• Produce project budgets and reports for clients
• Coordinate directly with clients, architects and Project Managers
• Mentor junior engineering staff
• Support the development of electrical design standards

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in data centre electrical design and the technical knowledge to lead projects independently.
You should be comfortable working directly with clients and design teams and have experience with AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech and Revit.
Chartered Engineer status would be beneficial but is not essential.
