Job summary

Irish Engineering Consultancy in Dublin is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building services design for large data centre projects. You will coordinate with clients, architects, project managers and the design team while mentoring engineers within the electrical group.

The role requires a degree in electrical/building services engineering and 5+ years of experience with strong knowledge of relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Proven experience leading electrical design and project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of CIBSE, BS, IS and EN standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on data centre projects from concept to completion.

The Company

This Irish engineering consultancy delivers major data centre, energy and mission critical projects across Ireland and EMEA.

They are expanding their Dublin Data Centre team and are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design and delivery of large scale projects from concept through to client handover.

The Role: Senior Electrical Engineer

As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take the technical lead on electrical building services design while coordinating directly with clients, architects, project managers and the wider multidisciplinary design team.

You will manage projects through the full design lifecycle while leading and mentoring Engineers and BIM Technicians within the electrical team.

Must Have Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer
• Proven experience leading electrical design and project delivery
• Strong knowledge of CIBSE, BS, IS and EN standards

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on data centre projects from concept to completion
• Design and specify electrical building services systems
• Develop project scope with clients and multidisciplinary design teams
• Produce and review tender packages and technical reports
• Coordinate Electrical, BMS/EPMS, Security and CSA interfaces
• Manage design quality and technical compliance
• Coordinate Engineers and BIM Technicians throughout project delivery
• Liaise directly with clients, architects and Project Managers

About You

You will be an experienced Electrical Engineer capable of taking technical ownership of projects with minimal supervision.

Data centre or mission critical experience is highly beneficial, along with working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam. Strong client-facing and team leadership skills are important for this position.
