Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead healthcare design projects from concept to handover, delivering patient-focused environments across medical facilities.

The role requires ownership of projects, coordinating with clients, clinical teams, contractors, and consultants, and ensuring adherence to Irish Building Regulations and HIQA/HSE standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience as an Architect with a healthcare portfolio.
• Deep knowledge of Irish regulations, HSE guidelines, HIQA standards.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept to handover.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple parties and driving projects to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead healthcare design projects from concept to completion ensuring patient-focused environments.
• Manage all stages of public works contracts including procurement, contract administration, project delivery, and sign-off.
• Take full ownership of projects, coordinating with clients, clinical teams, contractors, and consultants.
• Oversee technical design, ensuring compliance with Irish Building Regulations and healthcare standards.
• Conduct site visits and inspections throughout construction to monitor progress and resolve issues.

About Your New Job as Senior Project Architect – Healthcare

• Lead healthcare design projects from initial concept right through to completion, ensuring delivery of patient-focused environments across a range of medical facilities.
• Manage all stages of public works contracts including procurement, contract administration, project delivery, and sign-off while maintaining excellence in quality and compliance.
• Take full ownership of projects, coordinating with clients, clinical teams, contractors, and consultants every step of the way to guarantee functional, safe, and efficient outcomes.
• Oversee technical design, ensuring full compliance with Irish Building Regulations, HSE/HIQA standards, and healthcare-specific design requirements.
• Conduct site visits and inspections throughout construction, monitoring progress, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring adherence to healthcare standards.

What Skills You Need as Senior Project Architect

• 10+ years' experience as an Architect, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects (primary care, acute facilities, medical fit-outs, etc.)
• Deep knowledge of Irish regulations, HSE guidelines, HIQA standards, and healthcare-specific planning/compliance pathways.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept to handover, managing contracts, client expectations, timelines, and budgets.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, confidence working with medical professionals and multidisciplinary teams is essential.
• Experience coordinating multiple parties and driving projects to successful completion.
