Job summary

n8n is looking for a senior platform leader to own the Core Platform strategy and roadmaps, partnering with Engineering and Product leadership to drive scalable and reliable foundations.

You will steer architectural decisions, balance customer needs against technical debt, and ensure secure, flexible code execution across diverse environments, including self-hosted deployments. This role is Remote-first across Europe, with broad impact across our enterprise customer base.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Product, with 2–3 years on platform, infrastructure, developer-facing, or backend/API products.
• Credible with senior engineers; discuss distributed systems, execution models and reliability trade-offs.
• Led cross-team technical initiatives with real delivery risk, including migrations or breaking changes.
• Able to make trade-offs explicit and connect technical debt to customer outcomes.
• Owns problems autonomously and drives outcomes without direction.
• Excellent communication making complex platform topics understandable to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understands self-hosted, air-gapped and restricted deployments in customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate Core Platform strategy and roadmap with Engineering and Product leadership.
• Drive scalability, reliability, and execution of the execution engine and deployment scenarios.
• Plan and release major platform versions with migration strategy and risk management.
• Serve as bridge between Core Platform and wider org, translating roadmaps into actionable work.
• Proactively surface platform requirements from internal teams and turn them into Core Platform work.
