Job summary

AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior MES Sustaining Engineer to oversee lifecycle management, support, and continuous improvement of the MES ecosystem within a cGMP environment at the Dublin site. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, QA, Automation, Validation, IT and Engineering to ensure compliant, reliable MES performance.

The role emphasizes driving process improvements, supporting audits, and mentoring junior engineers while delivering sustainable MES solutions in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, automation, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline.
• Significant experience supporting MES in pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
• Experience with Syncade, PAS-X or equivalent MES platforms.
• Experience in regulated GxP environments with manufacturing support and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ownership and support for Syncade MES and related systems.
• Lead investigations and resolution of MES incidents, deviations and production support issues.
• Ensure MES availability, reliability and performance to support manufacturing operations.
• Support Front Line Support teams and provide SME guidance during escalations.
• Identify, evaluate and implement MES process improvements and digitalization initiatives.
• Assist with validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and change controls; participate in audits and inspections.
