Job summary

BMD & Co Ltd in Limerick is seeking an experienced Construction Manager, Mechanical to lead a team of engineers on a pharmaceutical/mechanical construction project, ensuring safety, schedule adherence and high quality from start to handover.

You will plan work packages, coordinate subcontractors and QA/QC, manage costs with the QS, and produce regular progress reports for clients and stakeholders. A degree in Construction or Mechanical Engineering and NavisWorks proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Min 5-7 years relevant experience as CM/Project Engineer essential.
• Worked on mechanical construction projects in Pharma/Biotech/Semi-conductor or Oil & Gas - essential.
• Experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication, piping installation and pressure testing on site - essential.
• Preferably a Degree Qualification in Construction, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in the use of NavisWorks or equivalent packages.
• Completion of Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) - desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day safety on the project per Company procedures.
• Manage activities to ensure safety, health and welfare of workers and others affected by operations.
• Ensure completion of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, SPA's and client permits.
• Plan work from initiation through execution and closure for materials, subcontract scopes, and craft requirements.
• Manage the site supervision team including engineers and craft supervisors.
• Develop constructability reports and schedules with the team.
• Establish subcontractor work scopes with QS including tenders, awards, and control of costs, schedule, quality and safety.
• Coordinate with workshops on prefabrication planning and documentation.
• Provide weekly/monthly progress reports to client representatives.
