Job summary

Boston Scientific in Cork is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership for high-volume, automated production lines. You will drive reliability, process capability, patient safety and cost through problem-solving and continuous improvement.

The role requires expertise in automated equipment, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robotics and validation activities within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • Honors Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) or higher in engineering or related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, equipment engineering or related technical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in automated manufacturing equipment, controls, mechanical systems and equipment reliability.
  • Experience with equipment qualification, process validation and change control within a regulated quality system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for highly automated, high-volume manufacturing equipment, driving safety, quality, service, output and cost.
  • Own the technical health of assigned equipment and processes, understanding interactions, constraints and capacity requirements.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex equipment and process issues using data and structured problem-solving.
  • Drive improvements in OEE, throughput, cycle time, yield and cost using Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
