  • Own the technical health of assigned equipment and processes, developing a deep understanding of equipment interactions, constraints, failure modes and capacity requirements.
  • Apply expertise in automated manufacturing technologies, including mechanical systems, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, sensors, motion controls, robotics, and automated assembly and test systems.
  • Improve equipment reliability and uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, structured breakdown analysis, critical-spares planning and obsolescence management.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex equipment and process issues using data, statistical analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Drive measurable improvements in OEE, throughput, cycle time, yield, scrap, downtime and process capability using Value Centred Engineering, Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead equipment qualification, process validation and verification activities, ensuring equipment and processes remain in a validated and controlled state.
  • Provide technical leadership for equipment modifications, automation upgrades, capacity expansion and new equipment introductions, from requirements and design review through commissioning, qualification and production handover.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Process Development, Maintenance, EHS and Supply Chain to deliver robust, compliant and maintainable manufacturing solutions.
  • Support the resolution of nonconformances, CAPAs, audit actions and manufacturing risks related to equipment and processes.
  • Lead technical improvement and capital projects that enhance quality, reliability, productivity and cost performance.
  • Partner with equipment suppliers, system integrators and external design resources to ensure solutions meet technical, quality and engineering standards.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging manufacturing and automation technologies that improve capability, reliability and productivity.
  • Ensure equipment and process changes meet applicable quality, machinery safety, CE, EHS, ergonomic and maintainability requirements.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality and comply with applicable regulations, procedures and training requirements.
Education & Experience:
  • Honors Bachelors Degree (Level 8) or higher in engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, equipment engineering or a related technical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in automated manufacturing equipment, controls, mechanical systems and equipment reliability.
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex equipment and process problems using structured, data-driven methods.
  • Experience with equipment qualification, process validation and change control within a regulated quality system.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead engineering projects and deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing performance.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business functions.
  • Experience in the medical device or another highly regulated manufacturing industry.
