Job summary

Boston Scientific Cork is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead highly automated, high-volume production lines. You will drive equipment reliability, process capability and strong patient safety practices while collaborating with Operations, Quality, Process Development and Supply Chain.

The role requires a strong background in automated equipment, mechanical systems, PLCs/HMIs, vision systems and data-driven problem solving, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Honors Bachelor Degree in engineering or related STEM is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or automation.
• Strong expertise in automated manufacturing equipment, controls and mechanical systems.
• Experience with equipment qualification, process validation and change control within a regulated quality system.
• Proven ability to independently lead engineering projects and deliver measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for highly automated, high-volume equipment driving safety, quality, service, output and cost.
• Own the technical health of equipment and processes; understand interactions and capacity requirements.
• Apply expertise in automated manufacturing tech including PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, sensors, motion controls and robotics.
• Improve equipment reliability and uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex equipment and process issues using data-driven methods.
• Drive improvements in OEE, throughput, cycle time, yield, scrap and cost via Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
• Lead equipment qualification, process validation and production handover activities.
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver robust, compliant manufacturing solutions.
• Support resolution of nonconformances, CAPAs and manufacturing risks.
• Lead capital projects to enhance quality, reliability and productivity.
