Job summary

Uisce Éireann in Ireland seeks a Leakage Maintenance and Repair Senior Operative to lead maintenance and leakage repair across the water network, ensuring safe operations and regulatory compliance. You will supervise teams, respond to alarms, and coordinate with Metering Services and Customer Teams to uphold service levels and public health standards.

The role requires secondary education or equivalent, at least two years’ relevant experience, and a valid Irish driving licence (B).

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum two years relevant experience.
• Full, clean and valid Irish category B driving licence is the minimum requirement; C licence desirable.
• Experience supervising or managing teams in a health and safety culture is preferred.
• Knowledge of the water network, infrastructure and operations is an advantage.
• Experience using IT systems; strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise planned and reactive maintenance and leakage repair across the water network safely and hygienically.
• Respond promptly to alarms, provide emergency cover, and resolve incidents on water network assets.
• Supervise non-domestic water meter maintenance and liaise with Metering Services.
• Lead teams, inform customers about issues and resolutions, and follow up on escalated queries.
• Support Customer teams and ensure works do not impact service delivery.
• Record and report information on asset operations and update HS records and inventory.
• Ensure health and safety procedures, risk assessments, PPE use, and regulatory duties.
• Oversee vehicle/machinery operation and stock levels; roll out SOPs as required.
• Coordinate with third parties/contractors and issue permits to work.
• Engage with stakeholders and manage timesheets and ad hoc reporting.
• Drive efficiency, inspect works, and manage training for teams.
